Antwan Houser a dedicated leader who loves working with and impacting the lives of youth and young adults in all facets of life. He is passionate about youth and young adults formerly serving as Youth Pastor at Mount Pisgah MBC, in Indianapolis, IN under the leadership of his father Pastor B.E. Houser, and currently serving as the minister over the Young Adult Ministry at Emmanuel MBC in Indianapolis, IN under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Daryl K. Webster, has afforded him with the great opportunity to pour into the lives of youth and young adults for over 10 years. Antwan has always had a thirst and desire to work in and be a community leader humbled yet prominent voice for the community.

With the amount of increased crime and murders that had taken place in our city, he felt that it was time for him to step up. Since those, committing the crime were closer to his age group and generation, yet no one from his generation had stepped up to speak out against the crimes. Antwan sensed that there was no better time of uniting as young pastors, preachers, and leaders to stand joining the fight becoming the voice for this generation. Antwan committed to improving the quality of life for the State of Indiana, the City of Indianapolis along with its communities, generations of today as well as the future, he founded and is the president of UPLIFT (United Pastors & Leaders Influencing Future Transformations). In the foundation, Antwan states, “We don’t take away from and will continue to pay homage to the senior pastors and leaders in the community that have labored and are laboring to make our city a better place to live and raise families. We as the younger generation want to help and do our part.”

UPLIFT is an organization with the mission of coming together with the common goal of influencing our youth of today to stop crime, impacting, changing, and transforming their futures along with our communities as a whole. UPLIFT has provided Antwan with the ability to be able to do both passions at the same time. Impacting lives by influencing future transformations among our generation, this will lead to a transforming of our community. Over the past year Antwan has devoted well over 3,000 hours pouring into the lives of youth, young adults and City of Indianapolis through UPLIFT. Antwan Houser is making and leading true change.

Under the leadership of Antwan Houser UPLIFT organized and hosted its first annual UPLIFT Youth Expo, which serviced 200+ youth and 100+ adults. The expo provided breakout sessions to the youth with the overall purpose of giving them tools that would help them be a better them in the community as well as in their homes. There were adult breakout sessions to help them be better and aware of the signs that ultimately could lead the children down the wrong path. The expo is unique in that Antwan collaborates with other community organizations and leaders giving them a platform to share their information and resources to those whom may be in need. UPLIFT additionally does an UPLIFT Community Expo, UPLIFT the Community event as well as a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, “UPLIFT the Dream” program. Under his leadership, UPLIFT also developed a young men's program named UPLIFT G.O.A.L.S. (Gentlemen Overcoming and Achieving Life Situations) as well as a young ladies program UPLIFT P.E.A.R.L.S. (Preparing Equipping Affirming Respectful Ladies for Success) where both programs go back to the basics of what it means to be a gentleman and lady. Antwan not only host community events, he participates and volunteers at other organizations venues as well as facilitate classes and speaks at various programs for The Center for Leadership Development, The Mini-Men Leadership Academy and a host of others. In the midst of that, Antwan visits schools from collegiate level to grade schools speaking about the importance of education, giving back to your community by not becoming a negative statistic but a positive product as well as being the best that they can be not just in school, but also in life.

Antwan, a Pastor and United States Navy Veteran, member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, member of the Indianapolis Urban League as well as a Member of the Indiana Rotary Club is married with three children. He is a college graduate whom has achieved five degrees, to include an Associates, two Bachelors and two Masters. Antwan was the 2015 recipient of the Mayor’s Community Service Award for the State of Indiana awarded by Mayor Greg Ballard, he was the recipient of a Letter of Appreciation for his community service and service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day awarded by Congressman Andre’ Carson. He one whom lives by his life scripture “to whom much is given, much is required”.
